The Prehospital Assessment and Transport to Hospital (PATH), is a collaborative project between Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine (Atlanta, GA, USA) and The Indus Hospital (Karachi, Pakistan) that aims at providing real-time tailored assistance based on need, with an overall goal to improve bystander trauma care and transfer to definitive care, to reduce morbidity and mortality from trauma in Pakistan.

Recent studies have identified a large burden of trauma and major gaps in quality trauma care in Pakistan. We hope to accomplish a reduction in the burden of out-of-hospital trauma care and reduce time to definitive care by providing an application that guides bystanders through the basics of trauma patient care and facilitates transfer to the hospital. Through this, we aim to strengthen the relationship between hospitals and prehospital care services, and hospitals with each other. Data collected will facilitate intervention at the city level to make a safer city from a trauma perspective
