how can we
Funny when these controls came in my gut reaction was this is not necessarily a good thing. Now some smug self satisfied types argued that this is giving us choice and how can we be so stupid as to deny this wonderful mechanism where we can censor ourselves as opposed to having flickr do it for us. My reaction is, why does the worl have to be made safe everywhere for children and people who have different limitations. Can’t we have a place where the limitations are the choice to view or not view something. And I mean the individual choice to say I am not going to view this. As an adult. Not some mechanism but our very own hand or finger to press the button. An active decision. Not some blanket mechanism.
Yes I believe there should be things and places where there is not adult material and that kids can roam freely without being exposed to things that are inappropriate but then I think that could be a service designed to be just that. I don’t want to be a member of that, as I am an adult. But now flickr has created that or to some they had a mechnism to put walls between the adults and the kids or grown up kids. Oh how they delighted in this new choice. And yet, now here we go where that so called choice is not allowed, not for a few but whole countries full of people. So it is not about technology but about what kind of world we live in.
I don’t want to live in a world where we have kids coming into bars so all bars then have to stop selling liquor to accomodate the kids. Adults should have a place in the world too.

how can we
After we went to Fantastic Studios, we walked 200m over to Aiins World — a land of mini recreations of world-famous monuments and buildings.
Here is the Basilica de San Pietro in Vatican City. Paris and New York City are nearby, in the background. Also, you can see some real-sized Bucheon city apartment buildings to the right.
